MCHE is proud to announce that we now have an affiliate volunteer organization, called Friends of Muhlenberg County Cemeteries (FMCC)! FMCC focuses on cemetery preservation and maintenance throughout Muhlenberg County. Many cemeteries are threatened to become completely consumed by forest growth and low-lying vegetation, such as the invasive plant, Kudzu. With your support, FMCC is working to make a positive impact that will last for generations. Working with local officials, like the Muhlenberg County Detention Center (MCDC), a whopping 40 cemeteries were maintained in 2022. Besides cemetery maintenance, FMCC also enhances cemeteries via other outlets, such as sign installation and grave marker decorations, giving out hundreds of American flags to veterans each Memorial Day.
