The MCHE Grave Marker Program

The MCHE Grave Marker Program was founded to procure new, legible grave markers for American veterans who served prior to April 6, 1917. Since 2016, MCHE has worked with Veterans Affairs (VA) to receive head stones for 17 Revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers. We are able to obtain upright granite or marble grave markers for Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican-American War, Civil War, and Spanish-American War soldiers who are interred in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. If applicable, we will sometimes obtain grave markers for veterans in surrounding counties, including (but not limited to) Logan, Todd, and Butler. While not all veterans are eligible for a new grave marker, those with illegible, broken, or non-repairable stones usually can receive a new grave marker. Pictures located at the bottom of this page show past MCHE Grave Marker Program headstone recipients (to view veteran's name, please click on photo). What's one of the best parts of the MCHE Grave Marker Program besides how easy it is to apply? The MCHE Grave Marker Program is 100% free!
